DAMAC Properties company profile

DAMAC Properties, founded in 2002 by Hussain Sajwani, builds three distinct kinds of product in Dubai. It sells master-planned villa and townhouse communities in Dubailand and Dubai Investments Park — this is where DAMAC Riverside, DAMAC Islands and DAMAC Sun City, the three DAMAC projects GRAF sells, sit. Separately, it builds branded apartment towers in Business Bay and Dubai Marina under licence from names like Versace and Roberto Cavalli, and a handful of towers outside the UAE. See "Who owns DAMAC Properties?" below for its ownership and market position.

Dubai communities and landmark towers

DAMAC is known for many communities and towers across Dubai — among the best known are DAMAC Hills (home to the Trump International Golf Club, designed by Gil Hanse), DAMAC Hills 2 (formerly Akoya Oxygen, a 55 million sq ft green community), DAMAC Lagoons, and its newer communities DAMAC Riverside, DAMAC Islands, and DAMAC Sun City. Its landmark towers include the four-tower DAMAC Towers by Paramount and the six-tower AYKON City in Business Bay, the Roberto Cavalli-interior Cavalli Tower in Dubai Marina (the world's first tower with Cavalli interiors, topped out November 2025), and the 85-storey supertall DAMAC Residenze (formerly DAMAC Heights). Outside the UAE, DAMAC has built DAMAC Tower Nine Elms in London — its first European project — and towers in Jeddah, Beirut, and Doha.

In May 2025, DAMAC launched Chelsea Residences by DAMAC in Dubai Maritime City. In November 2025, the company announced the first handovers at the Santorini cluster of DAMAC Lagoons.

Who owns DAMAC Properties?

DAMAC Properties is owned by its founder, Hussain Sajwani, who holds 100 per cent of the share capital. DAMAC is one of Dubai's largest developers — it ranked first among the emirate's private developers with AED 36 billion in 2025 sales, and first by off-plan sales volume in H1 2026. Sajwani's investment vehicle also owns other well-known brands: it bought Italian fashion house Roberto Cavalli in November 2019 and Swiss jeweller de Grisogono in May 2022, and DAMAC itself builds towers under licence from Versace, Paramount Hotels & Resorts, and Fendi, alongside a golf partnership with the Trump Organization. DAMAC's own shares were delisted from the Dubai Financial Market on 31 May 2022, after Sajwani's company Maple Invest Co. Limited completed the mandatory acquisition of the remaining minority shares.

How DAMAC differs from other Dubai developers

Two things set DAMAC apart from most developers on GRAF: how fast it sells, and how fast your purchase gets registered.

Sells at launch scale
AED 11 billion in five hours at DAMAC Islands 2 on 12 November 2025, after AED 10.23 billion in 24 hours at DAMAC Islands Phase 1 — most developers on GRAF sell out over weeks, not hours.
Faster property registration
DAMAC is one of only seven developers Dubai Land Department authorised in August 2024 to use its own systems to register transactions directly — DLD says this cuts registration from days to minutes, a step most developers on GRAF still route through DLD's standard process.
Why GRAF recommends DAMAC

GRAF recommends DAMAC because it's one of Dubai's largest and best-known developers — built by Hussain Sajwani, ranked among the world's richest Arabs by Forbes and the richest person in Dubai — and known for some of the city's most recognisable landmarks, from DAMAC Hills to the Cavalli Tower. GRAF sells three of its villa and townhouse communities: DAMAC Riverside, DAMAC Islands and DAMAC Sun City.

Why consider DAMAC
  1. One of Dubai's top-selling developersAED 36 billion in 2025 sales, ranking first among Dubai's private developers, and first by off-plan sales volume in H1 2026 — a scale most other developers on GRAF don't match.
  2. A well-established developer with a proven delivery recordDAMAC has delivered 50,000+ homes since 2002 and holds a Guinness World Record for real estate sales — a track record newer developers don't have yet.
  3. Dubailand and Dubai Investments Park are active investment corridorsProperty portals commonly cite 6–9% rental yields in Dubailand, with prices running 20–30% below central Dubai — ask GRAF for a rental and resale comparison on the specific unit you're considering.
